APPLICATION + SUBMISSION FEE

The Application + Submission Fee is $75.00.

Once $75.00 Fee has been Paid via online payment (MI’s website) ~ Artists will then be eligible to submit work for review and consideration for MARFA INVITATIONAL OPEN | 2025.

The Application + Submission Period is February 01 - 15, 2025 .

Upon receipt of Application + Submission Fee ~ Marfa Invitational will notify Artist via email confirmation. Providing artists with details regarding the submission process, including materials required for review. All artists’ materials will be submitted electronically and reviewed virtually (Ie Artists’ Website/Instagram Page/Online Links)

The Application + Submission Fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.

CURATORIAL REVIEW

Following receipt of Application + Submission Fee ~ Marfa Invitational will review thoroughly ALL submitted materials provided by Artist. Viewing images of artwork(s) on any and all virtual platforms which the Artist has provided links to. Including, but not limited to: Artist or Gallery Website, Instagram Page, Online Catalogues/Articles/Reviews/ etc. Additionally, Artists may include images (.jpgs) and text (Bio, writing, etc) via email correspondence.

ARTIST RECOGNITION

Marfa Invitational wishes to extend our utmost Thanks and high praise to ALL of the Artists and creatives across the great state ~ East to Far West ~ who make up Texas’ extraordinary Art Community. Together enriching Texas’ cultural fabric; making the Lone-Star State shine ever bright.

Valuing recognition, respect, and celebration ~ with the vision and mission of supporting and championing ALL Texas Artists who apply to the MARFA INVITATIONAL OPEN ~ Marfa Invitational will post and highlight Image (of Artwork) of each and every Artist who completes the Application + Submission process. With accompanying link to Artist’s page (Instagram or Website). Introducing the Artist’s work to a vast network of Collectors, Galleries, and Institutions around the globe, via IG post.

* ALL Artists who complete Application + Submission (including $75 Fee) will have their artwork posted via dedicated MARFA INVITATIONAL OPEN Instagram posting~ regardless of acceptance and inclusion in the MARFA INVITATIONAL OPEN Exhibition.

** Marfa Invitational reserves the right to deny posting if for any reason the Artist or Work, or any circumstances surrounding either, appear to Marfa Invitational to expose it to potential or actual damage to its reputation, risk of legal proceedings or enforcement including, without limitation, the alleged breach of third party intellectual property rights.

ACCEPTANCE + INCLUSION

Embracing ‘inclusivity’ ~ with the belief and understanding that ‘Community’ expands the possibilities of Art ~ the MARFA INVITATIONAL OPEN aims to bring together, under one roof, a diverse and expansive cross-section of Artists from across the great state of Texas. From young and emerging to mid-career, to internationally acclaimed. Grounded in the credence that ‘A rising tide lifts All’. Representing a greater whole achieved through a combined effort ~ emphasizing the power of collective unity.  Given, MARFA INVITATIONAL OPEN will mount a monumental salon-style exhibition and survey of Texas Artists ~ utilizing and employing the grand expanse of Marfa’s ‘Saint George Hall’.

SELECTION + CURATION

Following a comprehensive review of submission ~ Marfa Invitational will contact each Artist individually via email and notify them of their decision. If selected to be included in this Spring’s (2025) MARFA INVITATIONAL OPEN ~ Marfa Invitational will initiate correspondence with selected Artists to determine which work best represents the Artist’s vision and practice, while elevating the Exhibition as a whole.

ACQUISITIONS + SALES

ALL works included in Exhibition MARFA INVITATIONAL OPEN will be for Sale (Unless otherwise requested by Artists).

Artists will receive Full Sale Price of their Artworks if and when Sold during, or following Exhibition.
